Mountain High School proudly announces that four of its outstanding students have been awarded the prestigious National Merit Scholarships. This esteemed recognition is granted to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic prowess, dedication, and a commitment to excellence.

The scholarship recipients are seniors Mark Chen, Leila Hassan, Sophie Miller, and Omar Rivera. Each of these students has shown remarkable dedication to their studies, extracurricular activities, and community service, setting a high standard for academic achievement.

Mrs. Cathy Stevens, the students’ AP Calculus teacher, expressed his pride in their accomplishments. “Mark, Leila, Sofia, and Omar have consistently gone above and beyond in their academic pursuits. Their curiosity, determination, and hard work are truly commendable. They are not only scholars but also leaders who have inspired their peers.”

Principal Dr. Laura Mitchell highlighted the significance of this achievement for the school community. “Earning a National Merit Scholarship is a testament to the rigorous academic environment we strive to cultivate at Mountain High School. Linda Hassan, Leila’s mother, shared her joy and pride in her daughter’s success. “This award means the world to Leila and our family. We’ve seen how hard she has worked, often staying up late to study and balance her various commitments. It’s a wonderful feeling to see her efforts recognized on such a prestigious level. We couldn’t be prouder.”
